Face coverings on home to school transport

17 May 2021

The Prime Minister announced on 10th May that face coverings will no longer be needed to be worn by students in classrooms or communal areas in secondary schools and colleges from Monday 17 May.

Following the announcement the CPT sought clarification from Government as to whether this will impact the requirement for these students to wear a face covering on home to school transport.

DfT has confirmed with DfE that there is no change to the policy on face coverings for home to school transport, and that they therefore remain a mandatory requirement.
